How we process housing applications and allocate houses has moved online.

This allows applicants to:

create an account via an email address
apply for housing
manage their application
view their position on the list and
contact us directly via their application at a time that is suitable to them.

Change of Shire HA Chairperson

Chairperson – Janet Allan

The Associationโ€™s current Chairperson, Janet Allan, will step down from the role and the Management Board on 21 December 2018 due to personal commitments.ย  Janet has led the Management Board since 2014 and overseen the transformation of the Association.ย  After nomination, Vice-Chair, Lorne Campbell, was elected as the new Chairperson and member Hugh Carr accepted the position of Vice Chair. Existing Office Bearer, Nick Allan remains the Convenor of the Audit Committee.

Paying tribute to Janet Allan, Lorne Campbell stated: โ€œJanet has been a driving force in the improvements made to the Association over the last few years. The Management Board and Staff are hugely grateful for her hard work and dedication in strengthening the Association, particularly its governance.โ€ The Associationโ€™s Director, Jim Munro, also commented โ€œJanet has been hugely influential in creating a strong dynamic organisation that will continue to flourish thanks to her hard work.โ€

Supporting Netherthird Primary Fayre.

To help with our vision of Vibrant Communities we are supporting Netherthird Primaryโ€™s Christmas Fayre which was in Greenmill school.

Mission Christmas Appeal

The Team at Shire are participating in West FMโ€™s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal.

We have been raising funds as well as being a distributor of grants to certain young people in our communities

Today is our Christmas jumper day and staff have been collecting toys for the Appeal.
Billy Kirkwood from the Breakfast Show came along today to chat to staff and collect out donations of toys and cash.

These donations came from staff, The Board, and our contractors and partners.

Thanks of GD Chalmers, MPS Housing, Mears and Saltire for assisting the team at Shire with donations to Mission Christmas and our Foodbank appeals.

RENT CONSULTATION

Our annual rent consultation is now live.ย  This is an opportunity for our tenants to influence both their rent for the year ahead and the services we offer.

Information packs have been mailed to all tenants today.

Please read the pack you receive and give us your feedback.ย  You can respond in the following ways:

Transforming Shire Housing Association – AGM

Transforming Shire H.A.- AGM

Shire Housing celebrated another successful year at its recent Annual General Meeting. In her address to the meeting Janet Allan the Associationโ€™s Chairperson outlined the continued transformation of the Association in meeting its Business Vision of โ€œGreat Homes, Great People, Vibrant Communitiesโ€. The achievements in 2017/18 included:

  • The Management Board overseeing a radical staff restructure creating 4 new posts and making changes to a number of other job descriptions to better support the Associationโ€™s Business Plan;
  • The completion of a review of the Associationโ€™s long-term financial plans, confirming the Association is in good financial health;
  • The achievement of Investors in People Silver Accreditation, Investors in Young People Silver Accreditation, and continued Customer Service Excellence Accreditation;
  • Increased partnership working with tenants, a number of local community organisations and schools to strengthen community engagement.

Janet stated: โ€œ 2017/18 has seen the continued transformation of the Association and will ensure that we are ready to meet the challenges we face in the future, and we are continuing this work in 2018/19โ€.

The AGM also confirmed the re-election of Lorne Campbell, Nick Allan, Shaun Lowrie, and Willie Paterson to the Management Board. In addition, Terry Bardell joined the Board as a full member having been co-opted in December 2017.
