Ross Morris is originally from Craigens in Cumnock and has 13 years’ experience of working in housing. Ross completed a degree in Public Policy at the University of Glasgow in 2005 before taking up a position with the Ayr-based RSL Ayrshire Housing during the same year. Whilst with Ayrshire Housing Ross fulfilled a range of housing management functions with a focus on allocations, repairs and performance reporting. During this time he completed a Masters in Housing Studies at the University of Stirling. Ross left Ayrshire Housing in 2010 to pursue a PhD at the University of Glasgow.
From 2011 to 2014 he tutored and lectured on undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of public policy and housing, and continues to guest lecture on the Housing and Social Inequality module when required.
In 2011 he completed a Masters in Research with distinction, before completing his PhD in 2016. He currently works as a Policy Officer for South Ayrshire Council within the authority’s Housing Policy and Strategy team, taking up this post in 2014.
