Shaun Lowrie

Shaun joined the board of Shire Housing in May 2014 as an observer then became a full member at the Annual General Meeting in August 2014.

He is a community development officer for Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland. Shaun currently works in partnership with East Ayrshire Council on a pilot role of community led regeneration within Cumnock. He is presently designing a process model for community development from the learning taken from Cumnock, which can be used by other communities wishing to take a similar approach.

Outwith work, he project manages the annual Cumnock Carnival. This involves funding applications, risk and volunteer management and booking of acts and attractions. He is also volunteers his skills as a sound engineer with a local amateur dramatics society and assists in the production of two annual shows. Shaun recently began assisting with sourcing capital funding for the development of a suitable theatre and arts community hub which the society has recently acquired through asset transfer from the local authority.

Shaun enjoys travelling and hillwalking. In 2013, he spent 2 months volunteering in Tanzania and summited Kilimanjaro, he is hoping to go back before 2018.
