Shire Housing and Mitie Support Netherthird Primary School

Shire Housing Association continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting local communities. Working in partnership with Mitie, our repairs contractor, we jointly purchased 31 sets of waterproof jackets and trousers to allow local school children from Netherthird Primary School to use the Netherthird Community Garden even in the worst of Ayrshire rain!

The Association’s Director Jim Munro stated: “The Association and Mitie, were delighted to purchase the waterproofs to ensure that local school children can continue to benefit from outdoor learning in the wonderful Netherthird Community Garden. It demonstrates our commitment to supporting local communities, delivering our Business Vision of “Great Homes, Great People and Vibrant Communities.”

Kath Crombie, the Head Teacher of Netherthird Primary School, said: “I want to thank Shire Housing Association and Mitie for their generosity, which will help ensure our children can benefit from outdoor learning even in poor weather.”

Shire Housing Association is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year and the school children helped mark this occasion by releasing balloons. The balloons contained an invitation to contact the Association with the furthest travelled balloon winning a prize.
